Topic of the Day - Social Media
We'll be talking about social media and it's benefits and downsides. Do you use social media? How often do you use it? What platforms are your favorite? What platforms have you never tried? What was your first platform? Do you think social media is harmful or beneficial? What long-term effects do you already see or predict will come of social media?
Some example questions to get us started:
¿Usas las redes sociales?
¿Cuál es tu plataforma favorita?
¿Cuáles plataformas no has probado?
If you're looking for natural sounding ways to share your opinion, check out this article from Story Learning. You will find helpful phrases such as the following:
¿Qué piensas de…?
¿Qué opinas de…?
¿Tú qué crees?
¿Qué te parece?
... ¡y mucho más!
Feeling nervous about Conversation Class? Think about how you would answer the questions above. Look up some words before class. Prepare a few questions to ask your partner: when you ask the questions during conversation instead of always answering the questions, it can help you feel in control. It also gives you a break from speaking.
Need more of a challenge? Prepare questions that get you out of your comfort zone, and be prepared to answer them as well. Use these questions with the teacher for level-appropriate conversation.
Remember: We are all here to practice our Spanish and feel more confident in a new language. Mistakes are expected, and it's how we grow!
Nos vemos en clase. :)
